About

A modern industrial ship repair yard in one coherent realistic family, built so a developer can assemble a dock rather than dress one. The graving dock is the centre: ported 4 m bottom slabs, stepped altar wall sections whose copings sit level with the apron, an access stair tower, and a 16 m steel gate caisson whose leaf swings off its concrete quoin to open the dock to the basin. The ship is three lofted hull modules that bolt end to end at their primer section faces, a bulbous bow, a parallel midbody and a stern with a transom and a stern tube boss, held up on built keel blocks and wedged bilge blocks with adjustable shores to the dock sides, and its rudder and propeller are drawn and stood on the bottom beside it. Lifting is a rail mounted portal gantry striding the dock with a traversing crab, a pillar jib crane, a crawler crane and a shed travelling crane, each with a hook that hoists with the part that carries it. The fabrication shed is ported bays, a roller shutter gable and roof cassettes over a plate roller, press brake, profile cutting table, welding bay, grinder and fitters bench, with plate stacks, plate and pipe racks, gas, air, power, blasting, washing and spraying plant on the apron outside. The yard is finished with cabins, a store container, boundary panels, floodlight masts, safety kit, a slipway, a launch cradle, a work boat and a harbour tug, and 4 m water and apron tiles to lay the ground. Animation is rigid node transforms only: the gate swings, crabs traverse, hooks hoist, the jib and crawler slew, the shutter rolls, cabin, container and store doors open, the ram strokes, the cutting gantry travels, the man basket lifts, and rolls, grinding wheels, reels, the propeller and the thruster impeller spin. Wire rope, hoses, welding leads, cables, chains, curtains, water, spark and flame are modelled solid and stay still, because flexible material, fluid and fire need a joint per element or a shader and neither is reachable with a rigid node transform. No people and no skinning anywhere. No shipyard, shipping line, shipbuilder, classification society or equipment maker is named or depicted, no real vessel is reproduced, and every hull name board, plate, sign, muster board and container marking is left blank.

Common questions

How do I use Shipyard and Dry Dock with my AI development tools?
Press "Copy for AI agent" above and paste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or any other coding assistant. The prompt carries the direct CDN URL, the real-world size, the licence and the loading notes, so the assistant can fetch the pack and place it in your project without you writing the loader yourself. For a permanent connection, add the 3DAssets.dev MCP server to your tool with one command (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http 3dassets https://3dassets.dev/mcp) and the assistant can then search the whole catalogue, fetch files and read the usage snippets on its own.

MCP server setupGuide for AI agents

How do I get started?
Download the starter scene with the button to get every piece already placed as one .glb, or take individual models from the grid below, each with its own download and CDN URL. The JSON manifest linked above lists every file with its URL and size, which is what an AI agent uses to pull the pack into a project. Connect your agent to the MCP server and it can do all of that by itself.

MCP server setupAPI reference

Which game engines and tools can I use Shipyard and Dry Dock with?
Anything that reads glTF, which today means all of the major ones: three.js and React Three Fiber on the web, Godot 4, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and the model-viewer web component. Every model in the pack is a self-contained binary glTF (.glb) with textures embedded, and so is the starter scene, so each is one file to import and no plugin, converter or decoder to install first.
How do I import this pack into Unity, Godot, Unreal or Blender?
Unity: install the glTFast package (com.unity.cloud.gltfast) from the Package Manager, drop the .glb into Assets and drag the prefab in, or load it at runtime from the CDN URL. Godot 4: copy the file into the project folder and the editor imports it as a scene you can instantiate. Unreal Engine 5: File > Import with the built-in glTF importer, which converts the axes for you. Blender: File > Import > glTF 2.0. Units are metres with +Y up in the file, and every importer above handles the conversion to its own axes automatically.
Can I use Shipyard and Dry Dock in a commercial game, and do I need to credit anyone?
Yes to commercial use and no to credit. Every pack on 3DAssets.dev is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places it in the public domain: use it in a paid game, an app, a film or a client project, modify it, redistribute it, and put nothing in the credits. A link back is welcome but it is entirely your choice.

CC0 licence text

Can I load it from the CDN instead of downloading it?
Yes. The starter scene, one .glb with every piece placed, has a permanent URL on cdn.3dassets.dev that is CORS-enabled and never changes content, so you can pass it straight to GLTFLoader, glTFast or model-viewer in production and cache it as hard as you like. Downloading is only needed for engines that import from disk.
Do I have to download the whole pack?
No. Every model in the pack is a separate published asset with its own download and CDN URL, so you can take one prop or the entire set. The starter scene is the one-file option for people who want everything placed at once.
Do the models in Shipyard and Dry Dock fit together?
That is the point of a pack. The members are built together to one real-world scale with consistent pivots and a shared palette and level of detail, so a building, a vehicle and a prop from the same pack sit correctly in one scene without rescaling or re-texturing.
