A complete steampunk airship dock and workshop. The airship is modular: a fabric covered rigid envelope (and the same hull uncovered), a nose cone with a mooring cup, a cruciform tail, a keel truss, a crew gondola and an engine car with a four blade airscrew, all built about one centreline so they can be recoloured, swapped or rebuilt. Round it are the mooring mast with a weathercocking head, a portal gantry and a slewing jib, a 4 m riveted deck grid with catwalks, railings, ladders and stairs, and the plant that serves an airship: a riveted vertical boiler, a pressure receiver, gas cylinder racks, a gas pump trolley, modular pipework, valve standpipes, a gauge board, a brass control console and an engine telegraph. The erecting shed is modular too, with clad, glazed and sliding door bays, roof trusses and sheeted roof bays, and it is furnished with a lathe, a drill press, a pedestal grinder, an anvil, a bench, parts bins and the crates, toolboxes, oil cans, charts, lamps and ballast a dock runs on. Metre units, +Y up, +Z forward. Rigid node transforms only, no skinning: airscrews, flywheels, cogs, grindstones, lathe chucks and drill spindles spin, valve wheels wind, levers and telegraph handles rock, rudders and elevators swing, hook blocks hoist and trolleys travel, and doors, lids and drawers open and close. Chains, cables, hoses, flat belts, pipework, steam and the envelope fabric are deliberately static, because none of them is reachable with one rigid node transform and faking it costs a consumer more than it gives. Gauge needles are geometry for the same reason. No real airship, marque, engineering firm or product is named: every dial face, maker’s plate and stencil is abstract.
