A complete hand painted capital city for a fantasy massively multiplayer or role playing game, built as one kit on a 4 m grid. The city shell is modular: curtain wall bays with their wall walk and parapet, square corner towers, round flanking towers, a postern bay, a great gatehouse whose iron portcullis lifts and whose oak leaves swing, wall stairs, paved street, junction, corner and back lane tiles, an eight metre market plaza, walled canal and quay tiles, quay and street steps, a retaining wall and a stone arch bridge. Eighteen buildings each read as their service without a label: a bank with a round banded vault door, auction house, general store, smithy with a lit forge and a pumping bellows, alchemist, fletcher, tailor, cartographer, bakery with a lit oven, apothecary, tavern, three storey inn, buttressed cathedral with lit stained glass and a swinging bell, guild hall, three stage mage tower with a turning arcane crystal, town hall with turning clock hands, guard barracks and a canal warehouse with a turning mill wheel. Seventeen fittings stock them, from counters with sliding drawers and a bank deposit box wall to the anvil and quench trough, altar, throne, cauldron, brewing vat, bookcase, chests, crates and sacks, and seventeen street pieces dress and light the quarter: braziers, hanging lanterns, wall torches, a well, a fountain, notice board, cart and barrow on rolling wheels, trees, planters, hedges, rubble, signs and pennants. Fourteen townsfolk and creatures finish it: guard, merchant, blacksmith, innkeeper, mage, ranger, priest, dockhand, child, market trader, goblin, skeleton warrior, wolf and giant rat. Every figure is a rigid jointed puppet: solid nodes parented on real hip, shoulder, elbow and neck pivots, with no skeleton and no skin weighting anywhere, so an idle sway, an arm swing, a head turn and a weapon raise are node transforms and nothing deforms. Fingers, cloth and facial features are static, and so is anything that would need a linkage: bell ropes, the well rope, the hoist and the fountain jets. Lighting is emissive materials, because there are no punctual lights in a GLB of this kit. Metre units, +Y up, +Z front, ground contact at y = 0, modular pivots on the grid origin and dimensions accurate to a millimetre.
