About
The ground a medieval tournament is held on, at metre scale in the kingdom art family shared with the castle construction, siege and faction building packs, so it drops straight into a bailey or a meadow built from those. A 4 m tilt grid and a 3 m lists fence grid enclose the field; four grandstand modules, a royal box open on three sides and a herald platform face it; the head of the lists carries blank shields, coronel lances, rebated arms and a dressed harness on a stand; the practice ground has a quintain whose arm turns and whose sandbag hangs from it, pells and straw butts; and the camp behind holds pavilions standing open, a cook fire with a turning spit, a farrier, a market stall and the baggage. Heraldry is blank on purpose: every shield, banner, gonfalon and pennant ships plain or with an invented abstract charge, because real arms belong to real families and institutions. There are no people and no animals anywhere in it, because this library has no skinning and a posed creature would be dead weight; barding stands and saddle trestles carry the tack on frames instead. What moves is rigid node transforms only: the lists gate leaf, the quintain arm and its sack, the grindstone, the spit, the stocks board, chest and crate lids and the cart wheels. What does not move is fabric and fire: banners, tent canvas, guy ropes, pennant lines, awnings and the flames in every brazier, torch and cook fire are static, because flexible material needs a joint per element and fire needs a shader, and neither is reachable with one rigid node transform.
