About

A complete Victorian palm house a developer can assemble rather than dress. The shell is modular on a 3 m bay: stepped stone plinth, glazed cast iron bay frames, corner bays, a faceted apse end, glazed entrance doors, a curved eaves and gutter run, a half round barrel vault, a lantern ridge with opening ventilators, pitched roof glazing for a lean to, tiled floor modules, flagged path, cast iron grating, fluted columns with foliate capitals, a gallery walkway and a spiral stair. The services are here too: cast iron heating pipe runs with a valve set, an overhead misting line, ventilator shafting and its crank gear, a riveted water tank, rainwater downpipes, a brick boiler house wall with a door that opens, a flue chimney and a coal chute. The working end is a potting bench with a drawer, a twenty drawer seed cabinet, pot stacks, a tool rack, a watering can, a barrow and tiered display staging. The ground is raised beds with stone kerbs, a sunken fern pit, rockery outcrops, a lily pond coping that closes a pond on four sides, lily pads, a fountain basin, railings, benches, urns, planter tubs and a collecting box. The collection is palms in three heights, a tree fern, a banana, a cycad, bird of paradise, bromeliads, an orchid on a mount, a hanging basket, a trained climber, cacti, succulents, ferns, moss and bamboo. Animation is rigid node transforms only: the ridge ventilators swing open on the lantern, the entrance doors and the boiler house door open, seed and bench drawers run out, the crank wheel and the ventilator shafting turn, valve handwheels spin and the barrow wheel rolls. Glazing, water, mist, foliage and the hanging baskets are modelled solid and stay still, because glass is a surface a shader treats and water, mist and flexible leaves need a shader or a joint per element, none of which is reachable with one rigid node transform. Plants are static geometry with no growth animation and no skinning, and there are no people anywhere in the pack. No botanic garden, palm house, horticultural society, nursery or seed company is named or depicted, no real building is reproduced, and every plant label, specimen board, sign and plate face is blank: they carry no botanical names, because a label is exactly where a real name would go.

Common questions

How do I use Botanical Glasshouse and Palm House with my AI development tools?
Press "Copy for AI agent" above and paste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or any other coding assistant. The prompt carries the direct CDN URL, the real-world size, the licence and the loading notes, so the assistant can fetch the pack and place it in your project without you writing the loader yourself. For a permanent connection, add the 3DAssets.dev MCP server to your tool with one command (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http 3dassets https://3dassets.dev/mcp) and the assistant can then search the whole catalogue, fetch files and read the usage snippets on its own.

MCP server setupGuide for AI agents

How do I get started?
Download the starter scene with the button to get every piece already placed as one .glb, or take individual models from the grid below, each with its own download and CDN URL. The JSON manifest linked above lists every file with its URL and size, which is what an AI agent uses to pull the pack into a project. Connect your agent to the MCP server and it can do all of that by itself.

MCP server setupAPI reference

Which game engines and tools can I use Botanical Glasshouse and Palm House with?
Anything that reads glTF, which today means all of the major ones: three.js and React Three Fiber on the web, Godot 4, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and the model-viewer web component. Every model in the pack is a self-contained binary glTF (.glb) with textures embedded, and so is the starter scene, so each is one file to import and no plugin, converter or decoder to install first.
How do I import this pack into Unity, Godot, Unreal or Blender?
Unity: install the glTFast package (com.unity.cloud.gltfast) from the Package Manager, drop the .glb into Assets and drag the prefab in, or load it at runtime from the CDN URL. Godot 4: copy the file into the project folder and the editor imports it as a scene you can instantiate. Unreal Engine 5: File > Import with the built-in glTF importer, which converts the axes for you. Blender: File > Import > glTF 2.0. Units are metres with +Y up in the file, and every importer above handles the conversion to its own axes automatically.
Can I use Botanical Glasshouse and Palm House in a commercial game, and do I need to credit anyone?
Yes to commercial use and no to credit. Every pack on 3DAssets.dev is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places it in the public domain: use it in a paid game, an app, a film or a client project, modify it, redistribute it, and put nothing in the credits. A link back is welcome but it is entirely your choice.

CC0 licence text

Can I load it from the CDN instead of downloading it?
Yes. The starter scene, one .glb with every piece placed, has a permanent URL on cdn.3dassets.dev that is CORS-enabled and never changes content, so you can pass it straight to GLTFLoader, glTFast or model-viewer in production and cache it as hard as you like. Downloading is only needed for engines that import from disk.
Do I have to download the whole pack?
No. Every model in the pack is a separate published asset with its own download and CDN URL, so you can take one prop or the entire set. The starter scene is the one-file option for people who want everything placed at once.
Do the models in Botanical Glasshouse and Palm House fit together?
That is the point of a pack. The members are built together to one real-world scale with consistent pivots and a shared palette and level of detail, so a building, a vehicle and a prop from the same pack sit correctly in one scene without rescaling or re-texturing.
