Velodrome and Track Centre
Walk a full banked velodrome: 13 degree straights, 42 degree bends, a track centre set up for a session, and a concourse of stands, screens and flood light trusses around it.
About
A complete indoor velodrome laid out as a session in progress, built from the 58 published models in the pack.
The track. The oval is the pack's own assembly and is left exactly as the pack composes it: three 8 m straight modules a side banked at 13 degrees, and at each end a transition, four 30 degree bend segments at 42 degrees and a mirrored transition, every curved piece placed at the centre of its own 13 m circle and turned, never laid end to end. The cote d'azur, the apron and the painted sprinters, stayers, pursuit and finish plates follow the same radii, so the surface is continuous in slope as well as height.
The track centre. Rollers and turbo trainers run down the middle with bicycles on the drums, kit bags, bottle crates, helmet racks and mat stacks beside them. The judges tower, timing hut, timing desk, photo finish rig, lap board and bell stand at the finish line; the start gate and light tree sit on the pursuit line; a mechanics bench, track pump, spares crates and wheel racks make the pits along the south rail. Bicycles lean on the infield rails, stand in racks and hang on work stands.
Around the outside. Seating bays in two tiers, VIP box fronts, banner rails, crowd barriers, a big screen and scoreboards ring the concourse, with flood light trusses, stair cores, two entrance tunnel mouths and rows of parked bicycles. The south edge carries the arena wall panels and three roof truss sections with their light rigs; the rest is deliberately left open to the sky, because a walker who cannot climb can never see a roofed arena from inside.
No people. The catalogue has no skinned meshes, so every bicycle is riderless: on a stand, leaned on a rail or racked, and the physio bed and soigneur's table are laid out empty.
What moves. Bicycle wheels and the roller drums spin, the start gate's holder arm releases, the bell rings, the judges tower and timing hut doors open, the lap board leaf flips, the spares crate lids and the mechanics bench drawer open, the track pump handle strokes and the crate castors roll.
What does not move, and why. Cabling, banner fabric, kit bags, the screen and scoreboard faces and the bicycle chains are static. Each of those needs either a joint per element or a shader, and the pack's animation is rigid node transforms only, so a flexible or displayed thing cannot be driven by one. Every screen, scoreboard, banner and lap board is blank by design.
Size. 520 placements of 58 distinct models on an 80 by 57 m plot; every model in the pack appears at least once.
Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.
Points of interest
The west bend
Four 30 degree segments at 42 degrees, eased in and out by a transition at each end, all cut to the same 13 m inner radius. Walk to the blue strip and look up: the boards go from flat to steeper than a staircase in six metres.
Banked Track Bend Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)Warming up
Rollers and turbo trainers set out down the middle of the track centre, with kit bags and bottle crates dropped beside them. The drums and the bicycle wheels spin.
Warm Up Roller Set (Velodrome and Track Cycling)The finish line
The judges tower stands over the finish line with the timing desk, the photo finish rig, the lap board and the bell beside it. The tower and hut doors open, the board leaf flips and the bell rings.
Judges Tower (Velodrome and Track Cycling)The start gate
The gate sits on the pursuit line with the light tree behind it. The holder arm swings away to release, and the bicycle it holds rolls.
Starting Gate with Holder Frame (Velodrome and Track Cycling)The pits
A bench of tools, a track pump, spares crates and racked disc and spoked wheels along the south side of the track centre. The drawer and the crate lids open and the pump handle strokes.
Mechanics Bench with Tools (Velodrome and Track Cycling)Over the banking
From the infield rail the stands read over the top of the boards: two tiers of seating, VIP boxes, banner rails, a big screen and a scoreboard, all of them blank for you to dress.
Spectator Seating Bay (Upper Tier) (Velodrome and Track Cycling)The concourse
Behind the trackside fence the concourse runs the whole way round, with tunnel mouths, stair cores, flood light trusses, parked bicycles and a second set of benches and beds for the riders.

Models in this demo
Concourse Floor Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m square of poured concourse floor, 0.12 m thick, with a saw cut joint crossing it. Edge ports on all four sides, so a plot lays as one continuous surface under the track and the seating.
Infield Floor Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m square of the blue track centre floor, 0.12 m thick, with white marking tape along two edges. Edge ports on all four sides so the whole infield lays flat and continuous inside the apron.
Banked Track Transition Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 30 degree segment easing the bank from the straights 13 degrees to the bends 42 with a smoothstep, on the same 13 m inner radius and the same ports, so the track changes slope gradually instead of stepping between flat pieces set at angles.
Banked Track Bend Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 30 degree segment of velodrome bend: 6 m of timber surface banked at a constant 42 degrees on a 13 m inner radius, carried on steel bents. The origin is the centre of the circle it is cut from, so four of these and two transitions turn a half lap.
Banked Track Transition Module (Mirrored) (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The handed pair of the transition segment, easing from 42 degrees of bend back down to the 13 degree straight across its 30 degrees. A bend takes one of each, so the surface leaves and rejoins the straight at the same slope it arrives with.
Banked Track Straight Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m straight of velodrome track, 6 m of timber surface banked at 13 degrees, standing on steel trestle bents with the inner edge on the floor. Ports at each end on the mid radius, so straights tile into the home and back straights of a lap.
Cote d'Azur Bend Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The curved 30 degree length of the blue strip, cut to the same 13 m inner radius as the bend modules it sits against. The origin is the centre of the circle, so twelve of these close the two bends.
Cote d'Azur Strip Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The 0.6 m blue strip that runs round the inside of the racing surface, level with the apron and flush with the tracks inner edge. An 8 m straight length with ports at both ends.
Track Apron Bend Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The curved 30 degree length of the apron, cut to a 9.4 m inner radius so it closes round the ends of the track centre. The origin is the centre of the circle it is cut from.
Track Apron Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m length of the flat concrete apron between the track centre and the cote d azur, 3 m wide and 0.35 m thick so its surface is level with the tracks inner edge. Ports at both ends.
Sprinters and Stayers Line Plate (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m overlay plate carrying the three lines that run the length of the track: the white measurement line 0.2 m up from the inner edge, the red sprinters line at 1.05 m and the blue stayers line at 2.45 m. Cut to the straights 13 degree camber and laid on a straight module.
Finish Line Plate (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The finish line across the track: a 0.55 m overlay plate of ten black and white blocks running the full 6 m width, cut to the straights 13 degree camber so it lies flush on a straight module in front of the judges tower.
Pursuit Line Plate (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The white pursuit line across the full 6 m width of the track, on a 0.5 m overlay plate cut to the same 13 degree camber. Two of these sit half a lap apart on opposite straights, which is where a pursuit starts and finishes.
Infield Safety Rail Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 4 m bay of the tubular rail that separates the track centre from the apron: three footed posts with a top rail at 1 m and a mid rail, in steel. Ports at both ends, so bays run round the whole infield.
Track Side Fence Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 4 m bay of the 2.2 m fence that closes the back of the track apron: two footed posts, three steel rails and eleven charcoal uprights. Ports at both ends so it runs round the inside of the arena.
Banner Rail Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 4 m bay of the trackside banner rail: two posts, a top rail and a blank white panel with a yellow edge band. The panel carries no wording or logo of any kind. Ports at both ends so the rail runs the length of a straight.
Spectator Seating Bay (Lower Tier) (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 6 m bay of the lower seating tier: four raked rows of moulded seats in alternating red and blue on a concrete rake, with a handrail across the back. Ports at both ends so bays run the length of a straight.
VIP Box Front (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The front of a hospitality box: a 6 m concrete parapet 1.1 m high with a charcoal capping, a glass rail above it and a blank blue panel on the face. Ports at both ends so boxes run in a terrace.
Spectator Seating Bay (Upper Tier) (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The upper tier bay: the same 6 m frontage with five rows on a 1.6 m concrete fascia, so it stands over a lower tier bay behind it. Ports at both ends.
Stair Core (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A concrete stair core up to the upper concourse: a 3 by 4.6 m base, a solid flight of ten steps against a white core wall, a steel balustrade on the open side and a landing at 3.35 m. It stands on its own, so it drops against a seating tier or a wall.
Arena Wall Panel Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 4 m bay of the arena wall: a 5.9 m white panel on a concrete kicker with pilasters at each end, a charcoal head band and a blue stripe at high level. Ports at both ends so bays run along the back of the seating.
Roof Truss Section (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 12 m portal of the hall roof: two 6 m steel columns on pad bases carrying a lattice truss with a strip of charcoal decking over it. Ports at both ends, so portals bay out along a wall. One edge of a plot is enough to read as a building.
Entrance Tunnel Mouth (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The mouth of the players tunnel onto the track apron: a 6 m concrete headwall with a 3.4 by 2.9 m dark opening, a capping band, a yellow lintel stripe and blue reveals. The opening is a recess, not a corridor.
Ceiling Light Rig (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A suspended lighting bar for the hall roof: a 4.4 m lattice truss with two drop rods above it and four downlight cans under it. The origin is free, at the centre of the truss, because it hangs rather than stands; the rods reach 0.9 m above it.
Flood Light Truss (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A free standing lighting mast: two ballasted A frames carrying a 5.2 m lattice truss at 6 m with four flood heads on it, faces down. The lamp faces are plain white panels and no light is emitted.
Big Screen Frame (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The arena big screen: a 6.4 by 3.6 m charcoal frame on two steel legs, 8 m to the top. The face is deliberately blank, a plain dark panel for a project to map its own video or texture onto.
Scoreboard Frame (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A trackside scoreboard: a 4.2 by 1.7 m frame on two posts with a blank white face and a red header band. Nothing is written on it, so a project can letter or texture the face as it likes.
Crowd Barrier Set (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 2.4 m linked crowd barrier with splayed feet, a top rail at 1.05 m and six uprights, in bare steel. Ports at both ends so a run of them closes off an entrance or a working area.
Cone Set (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
Five 0.47 m marker cones on square bases, in yellow with a white reflective band, scattered as a set for closing a lane of the apron or marking a warm up area.
Track Centre Bench Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
Three 3 m benches in a row for the track centre, timber slats on steel frames with low backs, 4.8 m of seating end to end. Empty, like everything else in this pack.
Track Surface Board Panel (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A spare panel of track decking, 2.4 by 1.2 m of pale pine boards on two steel bearers, for laying flat in the track centre as a repair stack or a working platform. Six raised boards read as the plank courses of the running surface.
Judges Tower (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The raised officials tower on the home straight: a concrete base, four steel legs, a glazed cabin 3.3 m up with a run of steps to its door, and a flat roof deck. The cabin door is a named node on its hinge stile. Unlit and unoccupied.
Timing Hut (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The trackside timing hut: a 3 by 2.4 m cabin with a long glazed window to the track, a charcoal roof, a step at the door and a blank red fascia band. The door is a named node on its hinge stile. Empty inside and unlit.
Race Timing Desk (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The commissaires and timing desk: a 2.6 m table with a lower shelf and a blue modesty panel, two flat screens lying face up on it and two equipment cases pushed underneath. The screens are blank charcoal panels.
Photo Finish Rig (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The photo finish camera on its tripod: three splayed steel legs, a pan head and a charcoal body with a lens barrel and a yellow control box, 1.8 m to the lens. Static, because the head is a linkage rather than a single rigid joint.
Start Light Tree (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The three lamp start light tree used for timed starts: a ballasted mast 2.6 m tall with a charcoal head carrying red, amber and green lenses facing the track. The lenses are plain coloured discs and emit no light.
Lap Board and Stand (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The laps to go board on its stand: a two post frame with a blank white card and a hinged charcoal leaf over it that flips on the head rail. The number face is a plain white block, so a project can letter it however it likes.
Bell on a Stand (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The bell rung for the last lap, hung from a two post stand 1.6 m up: a brass coloured bell with a clapper ball, on a named node at the head rail so the whole bell rocks. The stand is ballasted and the bell is struck by hand, so nothing else moves.
Starting Gate with Holder Frame (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The wheeled frame that holds a bicycle upright for a standing start: a ballasted base on castors, two uprights and a head rail, with a hinged holder arm that lifts clear to release. The arm is a named node on the head rail pivot.
Track Bicycle (Upright) (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A fixed gear track bicycle standing upright on both wheels: steel frame, drop bars, one chainring and no brakes. Both wheels are named nodes on their own axles. Riderless, and the chain is one solid strip that does not move.
Presentation Podium (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A three step presentation podium 3.2 m across, in white and grey concrete with blue treads and a front kick rail. Empty: there are no people or trophies in this pack.
Bike Rack (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A five slot floor rack for track bicycles: a 2.4 m steel base plate with paired uprights making a wheel slot at each bay and a yellow kick rail along the front. Holds the bicycles upright without a rider or a kickstand.
Track Bicycle on a Work Stand (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The track bicycle held clear of the floor in an A frame rear wheel stand, which is how it sits for a gear change or a wash. Both wheels are named nodes and spin freely. Riderless, and the chain is one solid strip that does not move.
Track Bicycle (Leaned) (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The same track bicycle tipped 15 degrees onto its side, as it stands leaned against a rail or a barrier. The wheels are still named nodes and still roll. Riderless, and the chain is one solid strip that does not move.
Track Wheel Rack (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A wheel rack holding four spare wheels on edge in a steel A frame, alternating a solid disc wheel and an eight spoke wheel. 1.8 m long, and the wheels are part of the rack rather than separate nodes.
Disc Track Wheel (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A single solid disc rear wheel for a track bicycle, 0.64 m across, standing on its tyre: a charcoal disc with a steel hub flange and a yellow valve patch. Leaned against a rack or a wall as a loose spare.
Spoked Track Wheel (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A single eight spoke front wheel, 0.68 m across, standing on its tyre: a charcoal rim, a steel hub and pale bladed spokes. A loose spare to lean on a rack, a bench or a barrier.
Mechanics Bench with Tools (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The track centre workbench: a 2 m charcoal carcass with a timber top, two tool drawers, a vice, a parts tray and hand tools hung on a rail over it. The left drawer is a named node on its runners.
Track Pump (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A floor standing track pump 1.25 m tall: a weighted foot with a step plate, a steel barrel with a yellow collar, a pressure dial and a T handle that is a named node and strokes down the barrel. The hose is a solid strip and does not move.
Spares Crate (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A wheeled blue spares crate 0.9 m long with a charcoal lid hinged along its back edge and banding round the body. The lid and the two castor pairs are named nodes. Closed and empty.
Helmet Rack (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A four peg helmet rack 1.4 m wide: a steel floor frame, a head rail and four aerodynamic track helmets hung on it, in plain white and red with no markings. The helmets are part of the rack.
Kit Bag Pile (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
Four soft kit bags stacked in the track centre, in charcoal, red, blue and yellow with plain webbing handles and no branding. 1.2 m of pile. Static: the fabric cannot deform under a rigid node transform.
Drinks Bottle Crate (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A carry crate of six drinks bottles: a charcoal box with a steel tray top and six plain white and yellow bottles standing in it, 0.62 m across. No labels or markings.
Warm Up Roller Set (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A three drum roller set for warming up on: a low charcoal frame, two rear drums and one front drum on steel rails, with the belt between them modelled as a solid strip. Each drum is a named node on its own axle and spins. 1.5 m long.
Turbo Trainer (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A direct drive turbo trainer standing empty: splayed charcoal feet, a resistance unit body with a red cover and a steel drive drum that is a named node and spins. No bicycle is fitted, so it can be paired with any of the three bicycles.
Soigneurs Table (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 1.8 m folding table at the trackside with a lower shelf, a blue kit box, a tub and a folded towel on it. Nobody is at it: the pack has no people.
Physio Bed (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 1.9 m portable physio bed with a blue base, a white pad and a head section that is a named node and lifts on its hinge. Empty, made up and unoccupied: there are no people in this pack.
Mat Stack (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
Four folded exercise mats stacked square in the track centre, in blue, red, charcoal and yellow, 0.52 m high and 1.9 m long. Static, because a folding mat is not a rigid body.
