Walkable demo

Launch Pad, Gantry and Propellant Farm

Walk a launch complex: the vehicle stacked on its mount over the flame trench, the service gantry and its arms alongside, a propellant farm, a ground support strip and a crew yard inside the fence.

About

A 72 by 72 metre launch complex laid out from the whole pack: 406 placements of 59 distinct models.

The pad. The launch mount stands over a sunk flame trench with the deflector set in it, deluge heads either side and the sound suppression pipe run across the apron. A modular vehicle is stacked on the mount: first stage core, interstage, second stage and fairing, with the strongback against it. The service gantry is built from a base section, three tower sections and a crane head, with swing platforms, the fuelling arm, the crew access arm and its white room, the service lift cage and stair flights.

Around it. Deluge mains and cable trenches run the length of the apron to a blast fence bank on the north side. East of the mount is the ground support strip: helium bottle racks, a nitrogen purge cart, a ground power unit, chilldown skids and electronics racks. South, behind its own fence, is the propellant farm of spheres and horizontal cylinders with the vent and flare stacks. North is the yard: the crawler deck, the transporter erector on the road, stage cradles, a payload container, spare engine cluster, grid fins and landing legs, the site office cabins with the firing room consoles staged outside, the crew transfer van and the fire truck. Lightning masts, catenary anchors, floodlight masts, camera towers, windsocks, the water tower, warning boards and a perimeter fence with its gate close the site.

What moves. Nineteen models carry clips and all of them sit beside the path: the hold down clamps open, the gantry platforms swing, the crew access arm retracts, the fuelling arm swings away, the erector raises, the fairing halves hinge, the grid fins and landing legs deploy, the lift cage runs, cabin, van, fire truck and gate doors open, the purge cart and the vehicles roll, and the camera tower head pans. Clips play as you come within a few metres.

What does not move, and why. Cabling, hoses, catenary wires and the windsock are static: flexible material needs a shader or a joint per element, and none of it is reachable with the single rigid node transform this library uses. There is no water, no vapour and no flame, for the same reason: fluid and fire are shader work, not geometry. There are no people anywhere, because the pack has no skinned meshes. The gantry platforms and the crawler deck are scenery seen from the ground: the demo walk has no vertical movement, so nothing worth looking at has been put up on them.

Size. Fifty nine distinct models are fetched once each and cloned, so the walk is a larger download than a single asset page. Every model in the pack that fits an outdoor complex is here.

Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.

Points of interest

  • The stack on its mount

First stage, interstage, second stage and fairing, clamped on the launch mount over the trench. The hold down clamps open, the fairing halves hinge and the grid fins and landing legs deploy as you come close.

Launch Mount with Clamps (Rocket Launch Pad and Gantry)
  • Gantry, arms and platforms

The service tower stacks from a base section, three tower sections and a crane head. Its platforms swing in to the vehicle, the fuelling arm swings away and the crew access arm retracts from the white room.

Gantry Swing Platform (Rocket Launch Pad and Gantry)
  • Flame trench and deluge

The trench runs south from under the mount with the deflector set in it, deluge heads either side and the sound suppression pipe run across the apron. The water and the flame are not modelled.

Flame Trench Section (Rocket Launch Pad and Gantry)
  • Propellant farm

Spheres and horizontal cylinders behind their own fence, with the vent and flare stacks, chilldown skids and helium racks that feed the pad. Pipework and hoses are static geometry.

  • Ground support strip

Helium bottle racks, a nitrogen purge cart, a ground power unit and electronics racks line the cable trench east of the mount. The cart rolls, the power unit and the racks open.

Helium Bottle Rack (Rocket Launch Pad and Gantry)
  • Transporter erector

Parked on the road beside the pad. It rolls, and its beam raises the vehicle from horizontal to vertical, which is the pack’s longest single mechanism.

Transporter Erector (Rocket Launch Pad and Gantry)
  • Crew and vehicle yard

The crawler deck, stage cradles, a payload container, the site office, the crew transfer van and the fire truck. Doors and hatches open and the wheels roll.

Crawler Transporter Deck (Rocket Launch Pad and Gantry)
  • Perimeter gate

The gate on the access road swings open. Fence panels, floodlight masts, a camera tower whose head pans, the windsock and the warning boards close the site.

Common questions

How do I use Launch Pad, Gantry and Propellant Farm with my AI development tools?
Press "Copy for AI agent" above and paste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or any other coding assistant. The prompt carries the direct CDN URL, the real-world size, the licence and the loading notes, so the assistant can fetch the scene and place it in your project without you writing the loader yourself. For a permanent connection, add the 3DAssets.dev MCP server to your tool with one command (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http 3dassets https://3dassets.dev/mcp) and the assistant can then search the whole catalogue, fetch files and read the usage snippets on its own.

MCP server setupGuide for AI agents

How do I get started?
Walk the scene here with the keys or touch to see how the pack fits together. To build it yourself, download the pack with the button, then copy the "Copy for AI agent" prompt: it links the layout JSON, which lists every placement with its position, rotation and CDN URL, so an assistant connected to the MCP server can rebuild the scene in your engine and change it to order.

MCP server setup

Which game engines and tools can I use Launch Pad, Gantry and Propellant Farm with?
Anything that reads glTF, which today means all of the major ones: three.js and React Three Fiber on the web, Godot 4, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and the model-viewer web component. Every model in the scene is a self-contained binary glTF (.glb) with textures embedded, so each is one file to import and no plugin, converter or decoder to install first.
How do I import this scene into Unity, Godot, Unreal or Blender?
Unity: install the glTFast package (com.unity.cloud.gltfast) from the Package Manager, drop the .glb into Assets and drag the prefab in, or load it at runtime from the CDN URL. Godot 4: copy the file into the project folder and the editor imports it as a scene you can instantiate. Unreal Engine 5: File > Import with the built-in glTF importer, which converts the axes for you. Blender: File > Import > glTF 2.0. Units are metres with +Y up in the file, and every importer above handles the conversion to its own axes automatically.
Can I use Launch Pad, Gantry and Propellant Farm in a commercial game, and do I need to credit anyone?
Yes to commercial use and no to credit. Every scene on 3DAssets.dev is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places it in the public domain: use it in a paid game, an app, a film or a client project, modify it, redistribute it, and put nothing in the credits. A link back is welcome but it is entirely your choice.

CC0 licence text

Can I load it from the CDN instead of downloading it?
Yes. The pack behind it has a permanent URL on cdn.3dassets.dev that is CORS-enabled and never changes content, so you can pass it straight to GLTFLoader, glTFast or model-viewer in production and cache it as hard as you like. Downloading is only needed for engines that import from disk.
Is the demo itself a file I can download?
No, and it does not need to be. A demo is a layout of the pack's published models composed in your browser from the CDN, so there is no extra file to fetch. Download the pack for the models, and take the layout JSON linked above for the placements: together they are the whole scene, and an AI agent can rebuild it from those two links.
Can I change the scene, or add gameplay to it?
Yes. The layout is plain data in metres, so move, add or remove placements freely in your own engine. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add: the demo shows what the pack looks like assembled, and your game decides how it plays.
