Dragon lair valley

Walk a 78 by 64 metre dragon lair valley: an elder settled on its hoard before a cave mouth, a nest ground of eggs and hatchlings, a feeding ground of bone, a basking shelf of wyverns, and every dragon in the pack at its own scale.

About

All 61 individual models in the pack, laid out as one dragon lair valley 78 by 64 metres under a dusk sky. Every dragon here is a fictional creature described by type, age and pose: no dragon from any film, book, game or television series is referenced, and no individual creature is named.

You start at the mouth of the valley looking north along a drift of spilled coin. At the end of it an elder dragon sits settled on its hoard, eleven metres of it, with the cave mouth arch standing thirteen metres wide behind. Eleven hoard piles, six treasure chests and scattered gold spread out around the elder, and a second elder roars to the west while a third stands to the east. An adult rears on one side of the approach and another roars on the other, so the walk in passes between them.

West of the hoard is the nest ground: nine nests of eggs, five clutches on rock and better than forty eggs whole, cracked and hatching, with the three hatchlings among them, two juveniles at the edge and an adult perched over the lot with its wings folded. East is the feeding ground, thirteen gnawed bone piles, five dragon skulls and scorched patches, where one adult feeds and another crouches ready to spring, with a slain adult at the north edge.

The west ridge is a basking shelf of perch rocks with a wyvern up on one, another standing alert, a third crouched and a fourth holding the ridge with a 12.9 metre wingspan. Before the cave an eastern dragon lies coiled, a second sleeps further west and a third rears to the east. The south west quarter is the wingless one, four drakes and three lindworms at a size a person could face, and the south east corner is a captor's: an iron cage, a chain and shackle anchor, a drake crouched beside it and a slain wyvern. By the spawn a display plinth carries a 1.75 metre reference figure on a turntable, so the first thing you can do is judge the sizes: hatchling 0.6 m, juvenile 2.6 m, drake 2.8 m, lindworm 5.4 m, wyvern 6.2 m, adult 7 m, eastern 9.5 m, elder 11 m. Two more reference figures stand by the hoard and by the nests for the same reason. Claw mark plates, shed scale piles, coin and bone are worked out across the whole floor, which is laid from repeated lair ground tiles. Placing the whole pack costs the visitor about 10 MB of GLB across 61 downloads, which is the trade for a valley with every design in it.

What moves: the treasure chest lids open and close, the iron cage door opens and closes, and the display plinth turntable spins. That is the whole of it.

What does not move, and why: every dragon, wyvern, drake, lindworm and hatchling is static geometry in a baked pose. The pipeline has no skinning, so wings, necks, tails, jaws and flame cannot be driven by a rigid node transform, and hinging a limb node off a creature's body reads worse than a clean pose does. The five flying poses hang over the rock at the valley edges and over the cave forecourt as scenery rather than as animation, and the walk has no vertical movement, so everything you are meant to meet stands on the ground.

Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.

Points of interest

  • The elder over its hoard

An 11 metre elder settled on its gold, with hoard piles, five chests and coin spilling down the valley. The chest lids open as you come near. The cave mouth stands behind it.

Elder Dragon Settled On A Hoard (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • How big is a dragon

    A 1.75 metre figure on the turntable gives you the scale: hatchling 0.6 m, juvenile 2.6 m, drake 2.8 m, lindworm 5.4 m, wyvern 6.2 m, adult 7 m, eastern 9.5 m, elder 11 m. The turntable spins.

Display Plinth With A Turntable (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • The nest ground

Nine nests, five clutches on rock and forty odd eggs whole, cracked and hatching, with three hatchlings and two juveniles among them and an adult perched over the lot with its wings folded.

Dragon Nest Of Eggs (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • The feeding ground

Gnawed bone piles, skulls and scorched ground east of the hoard, where an adult feeds and another crouches ready to spring. A slain adult lies at the north edge of it.

Western Dragon Feeding (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • The basking shelf

Four perch rocks on the west ridge with a wyvern up on one, another standing alert below and a third crouched to spring. A wyvern with a 12.9 metre wingspan holds the ridge line.

    Wyvern Perched (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • The cave mouth

A 13 metre arch closes the north end, coin and shed scale trailing out of it. An eastern dragon lies coiled before it, another asleep further west and a third reared up to the east.

Eastern Dragon Coiled (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • The captor's corner

An iron cage whose door opens, a chain and shackle anchor set in the ground, a drake crouched beside it and a slain wyvern north of it. Somebody here kept dragons, and it went badly.

Iron Cage With An Opening Door (Dragons and Wyverns)
  • Drakes and lindworms

The wingless quarter, south west: four drakes standing, walking, crouched and curled asleep, and three lindworms standing, coiled and reared, all at the size a person could face.

Common questions

How do I use Dragon lair valley with my AI development tools?
Press "Copy for AI agent" above and paste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or any other coding assistant. The prompt carries the direct CDN URL, the real-world size, the licence and the loading notes, so the assistant can fetch the scene and place it in your project without you writing the loader yourself. For a permanent connection, add the 3DAssets.dev MCP server to your tool with one command (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http 3dassets https://3dassets.dev/mcp) and the assistant can then search the whole catalogue, fetch files and read the usage snippets on its own.

MCP server setupGuide for AI agents

How do I get started?
Walk the scene here with the keys or touch to see how the pack fits together. To build it yourself, download the pack with the button, then copy the "Copy for AI agent" prompt: it links the layout JSON, which lists every placement with its position, rotation and CDN URL, so an assistant connected to the MCP server can rebuild the scene in your engine and change it to order.

MCP server setup

Which game engines and tools can I use Dragon lair valley with?
Anything that reads glTF, which today means all of the major ones: three.js and React Three Fiber on the web, Godot 4, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and the model-viewer web component. Every model in the scene is a self-contained binary glTF (.glb) with textures embedded, so each is one file to import and no plugin, converter or decoder to install first.
How do I import this scene into Unity, Godot, Unreal or Blender?
Unity: install the glTFast package (com.unity.cloud.gltfast) from the Package Manager, drop the .glb into Assets and drag the prefab in, or load it at runtime from the CDN URL. Godot 4: copy the file into the project folder and the editor imports it as a scene you can instantiate. Unreal Engine 5: File > Import with the built-in glTF importer, which converts the axes for you. Blender: File > Import > glTF 2.0. Units are metres with +Y up in the file, and every importer above handles the conversion to its own axes automatically.
Can I use Dragon lair valley in a commercial game, and do I need to credit anyone?
Yes to commercial use and no to credit. Every scene on 3DAssets.dev is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places it in the public domain: use it in a paid game, an app, a film or a client project, modify it, redistribute it, and put nothing in the credits. A link back is welcome but it is entirely your choice.

CC0 licence text

Can I load it from the CDN instead of downloading it?
Yes. The pack behind it has a permanent URL on cdn.3dassets.dev that is CORS-enabled and never changes content, so you can pass it straight to GLTFLoader, glTFast or model-viewer in production and cache it as hard as you like. Downloading is only needed for engines that import from disk.
Is the demo itself a file I can download?
No, and it does not need to be. A demo is a layout of the pack's published models composed in your browser from the CDN, so there is no extra file to fetch. Download the pack for the models, and take the layout JSON linked above for the placements: together they are the whole scene, and an AI agent can rebuild it from those two links.
Can I change the scene, or add gameplay to it?
Yes. The layout is plain data in metres, so move, add or remove placements freely in your own engine. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add: the demo shows what the pack looks like assembled, and your game decides how it plays.
