Walkable demo
Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den
Walk a cutaway undercity: brick channel runs, junctions and weirs, a columned cistern, a pump chamber and a thieves den of four rooms round a paved courtyard.
About
A sewer is a tunnel, and a tunnel is the one thing this viewer cannot show you: the demo walk has no vertical movement and no way into a roofed interior, so a faithful undercity would be a dark ceiling from end to end. This demo presents the undercity as a cutaway. The vaulting has been lifted off the channels, chambers and dens, so you walk the ledges and look down into the water, and the camera sees in from above. Arches, vault bays and roofed tunnel sections are kept at the plot edges and over single bays, so the runs still read as tunnels without sealing them. A consumer assembles the same modules fully enclosed in their own engine: every piece is a four metre bay that joins to the next with the water level and both ledges continuous.
The place. A main trunk runs north to south with a two metre waterway and a raised maintenance ledge either side, stepping down over a weir pool and an overflow sill to the outfall arch and its culvert mouths. A cross junction throws arms east and west; a tee sends a third arm through to the den. West, the run turns on a curve and drops into a cistern hall of four floor tiles, masonry columns and two free standing vaults. On the trunk itself, a widened penstock chamber carries the hand wheel, the Archimedean screw pump and the rocking beam pump. North of it a Y fork splits into two diagonal reaches that leave the plot under an egg section and a smooth barrel. East, past the threshold arch, four cutaway rooms stand round a paved courtyard: the fence's counter with its strongbox and coin sacks, a sleeping corner with hammock, cot and repair hearth, a workshop with the sorting table, lockpick bench and a bookcase that is really a door, and a store with the disguise rack, the dice table and a trapdoor out. A collapsed reach and a low vault bay close the loop between the two eastern arms.
524 placements of 116 of the pack's 124 models, on a 62 by 58 m plot, about 10.6 MB of GLB in total. That download is the trade for showing almost the whole pack in one place; a scene that uses a dozen modules costs a fraction of it. The demo is lit as night under an open sky rather than as a room, because the cutaway has no vaulting to light from: a low white sun and a near black sky keep the brick, the dressed stone and the green water apart, which a bright interior wash flattened into one grey.
Nothing in this demo moves, and that is the pack, not the layout. None of the 124 models ships an animation clip. The sluice leaf, the penstock gate, the bookcase door, the trapdoor, the inspection hatches and the chest lids are modelled as separate pieces on their own pivots, so a consumer can drive them from their own code, but there is no clip here to play. The water surfaces, the lamp flames, the hanging chains, the tripwire cord, the hammock and the hung clothing are all fixed geometry: rigid node transforms cannot make a surface ripple, a flame flicker or a rope swing, and faking any of them would cost a consumer more than it gives. There are no people and no animals anywhere: the catalogue holds no skinned meshes, and the rat nest heaps are static dressing.
Nothing here carries readable text. The wanted posters are blank abstract notices, the hazard plaques and channel markers carry marks rather than words, and the city map is an invented street grid with no real geography.
Everything placed is CC0. Open any model's page from a point caption to download the GLB on its own.
Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.
Points of interest
Main trunk, cut away
The demo lifts the vaulting off the undercity so it can be walked. Four metre channel bays run the length of the trunk with a two metre waterway and a raised ledge either side.
Brick Barrel Open Cutaway (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)Cross junction
Four ways meet here. The junction, tee and fork modules keep the water level and both ledges continuous, so runs join without a seam.
Cross Junction (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)Penstock chamber
The widened bay carries the hand penstock wheel, the screw pump and the rocking beam pump. All three are static models: the pack ships no clips.
Archimedean Screw Pump (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)Cistern hall
Four six metre floor tiles, masonry columns and two free standing vaults. The columns and vaults show how the enclosed version of this space goes together.
Cistern Columns (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)Into the den
Past the threshold arch, four cutaway rooms round a paved courtyard: the fence, the sleeping corner, the workshop and the store.
Arched Den Threshold (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)The fence's counter
Trade counter, strongbox, coin sacks and a jewellery tray. The posters carry no names or readable text.
Fences Counter (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)Weir and outfall
The weir pool and overflow sill step the water down to the outfall arch and its culvert mouths, where the trunk leaves the plot.
Overflow Weir (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)Collapsed reach
A fallen barrel section, timber shoring and a low vault bay close the loop between the two eastern arms.
Brick Barrel Collapsed (Undercity Sewers and Thieves Den)
