Judges Tower (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The raised officials tower on the home straight: a concrete base, four steel legs, a glazed cabin 3.3 m up with a run of steps to its door, and a flat roof deck. The cabin door is a named node on its hinge stile. Unlit and unoccupied.
Start Light Tree (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The three lamp start light tree used for timed starts: a ballasted mast 2.6 m tall with a charcoal head carrying red, amber and green lenses facing the track. The lenses are plain coloured discs and emit no light.
Starting Gate with Holder Frame (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
The wheeled frame that holds a bicycle upright for a standing start: a ballasted base on castors, two uprights and a head rail, with a hinged holder arm that lifts clear to release. The arm is a named node on the head rail pivot.
Infield Floor Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m square of the blue track centre floor, 0.12 m thick, with white marking tape along two edges. Edge ports on all four sides so the whole infield lays flat and continuous inside the apron.
Track Side Fence Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 4 m bay of the 2.2 m fence that closes the back of the track apron: two footed posts, three steel rails and eleven charcoal uprights. Ports at both ends so it runs round the inside of the arena.
Infield Safety Rail Run (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A 4 m bay of the tubular rail that separates the track centre from the apron: three footed posts with a top rail at 1 m and a mid rail, in steel. Ports at both ends, so bays run round the whole infield.
Concourse Floor Module (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
An 8 m square of poured concourse floor, 0.12 m thick, with a saw cut joint crossing it. Edge ports on all four sides, so a plot lays as one continuous surface under the track and the seating.
Track Surface Board Panel (Velodrome and Track Cycling)
A spare panel of track decking, 2.4 by 1.2 m of pale pine boards on two steel bearers, for laying flat in the track centre as a repair stack or a working platform. Six raised boards read as the plank courses of the running surface.
Fitters workbench with vice (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A steel workbench 2.4 m long with a scarred hardwood top, a bench vice bolted at one end, a tool panel behind it hung with spanners and files, a drawer unit under and an open shelf of stock below.
Pedestal grinding station (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A double ended pedestal grinder on a cast base with wheel guards, tool rests, eye shields and a spark tray, beside a steel topped stand with abrasive discs and a chipping hammer on it. The wheel turns.
Welding set with torch and leads (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A wheeled inverter welding set with a wire feed unit on top, a gas bottle strapped to the back, a torch hung on the handle and the earth clamp and leads coiled over the barrow, for a fabrication bay.
Welding bay screen (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A three leaf welding screen 3.6 m wide and 2 m tall on castors: a tubular frame with flame retardant curtains, a blank warning plate on the middle leaf and a lead hook at one end. One leaf swings to close the bay.
Profile cutting table (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A 4 m by 2 m downdraught cutting table with a slatted bed, a bridge gantry on rails carrying the torch head and its height sensor, a drive cabinet and a swing arm control screen. The gantry traverses the table.
Hydraulic press brake (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A 3 m hydraulic press brake: a welded C frame with two ram cylinders, a punch on the descending beam, a vee die in the bed, a back gauge behind and a foot control on a lead. The ram strokes down and back up.
Three roll plate bending machine (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
A pyramid plate roller 2.6 m between housings: two driven bottom rolls, a pinching top roll, a geared drive end, a drop end for releasing a rolled shell and a pedestal control station. All three rolls turn.
Overhead travelling crane, 8 m span (Shipyard and Dry Dock)
Single girder underslung overhead crane for a fabrication shed: a box bridge hung from two end carriages on rail mounted wheels, a crab with its gearbox and drum, and a hook block under it. The crab traverses the bridge and the hook hoists with it.
Amphora Rack (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A 1.6 m timber amphora rack 1.4 m tall: two shelves of cradle rails standing four terracotta amphorae in their saddles, which is how oil and wine were kept behind a stall. The jars are part of the model, not separate files.
Towel Rack (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A 1.3 m timber towel rack 1.6 m tall: three turned rails between two posts on sled feet, with four folded linen towels hung over them. The towels are modelled in one pose and never move: a hanging sheet needs a cloth solver, which no rigid node transform can stand in for.
Masseur's Table (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A 1.95 m timber massage table 720 mm high: four turned legs with stretcher rails, a padded top and a bolster at the head, with an oil flask and a folded cloth left on it. It stands in the oiling room beside the palaestra.
Bath House Storage Chest (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A 1.1 m timber storage chest with iron straps, bronze carrying rings and a hasp: what an attendant kept towels, oil and lamp fuel in. The lid is a named node hinged on its back edge and lifts.
Bronze Lamp Stand (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A bronze lamp stand 1.6 m tall: a three footed base, a turned baluster column and a cross arm carrying two oil lamps by their chains. Lighting for a corridor or a changing room. There is no flame and no light source: the lamps are cold geometry, and a consumer adds the light.
Hanging Oil Lamp (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A bronze oil lamp hung on three chains from a suspension ring, 940 mm from the ring to the nozzle. The origin sits at the ground under the lamp so the model settles like any other, and a scene lifts it to the ceiling by its ring.
Wall Niche with Urn (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A 1.1 m wall niche block 2.5 m tall: a round headed recess between marble pilasters under a moulded cornice, with a shelf and a plain lidded stone urn standing on it.
Bronze Brazier (Roman Bathhouse and Palaestra)
A bronze brazier 1 m across and 1 m tall: a three legged stand with hoof feet carrying a moulded pan of charcoal under a beaded rim. This is what warmed a room between the hot baths.
