Roadside diner and motel stop
Walk a 62 by 46 metre roadside stop from the Retro Diner and Roadside Motel pack: an open fronted diner car with a twelve stool counter and six booths, a nine room motel in an L under its walkway canopy, and a car park between them.
About
All 56 models of the pack in 370 placements, in the outdoor preset with a warm low sun.
You spawn in the car park six metres off the diner front, looking straight through the open serving bay at the counter, with the rooftop sign pylon above it. The diner car is built from wide and narrow body modules with a curved end, a chrome roofline band, glazed window bays and a glazed door, on a chequer floor. Inside: six counter runs with twelve spinning stools and an end stool, the pie display case, cake stand, twin coffee urns, three spindle shake mixers, soda fountain head, service bell and till on the top, the griddle under its extract hood and two fryers behind, six booth pairs along the window with a napkin dispenser and condiment set on each table, the wall clock, the menu board and pass window on the kitchen partition, coat hooks by the door and the jukebox in the curved end.
Outside, the lot is thirty three bay modules in three rows with wheel stops, kerb runs and eleven lamp posts, a road with its centre line and a verge along the south edge, picnic tables, forecourt seating and bins by the kerb, and a period fuel pump pair with tyre stacks at the western edge. The motel runs east from the diner as an L: a one room block and two two room blocks along the north side, two more turning south along the east side, all under a continuous walkway canopy with blank number plates, an ice machine and vending machines between the doors, and the office front at the corner with its reception desk, key rack and blank vacancy board. Payphone booths, newspaper boxes, hydrants, litter bins and potted cacti dress the rest.
What moves: the diner, office, motel and payphone doors open and close, the pie case and ice machine lids lift, the vending and newspaper box flaps swing, the till drawer opens, the fryer baskets lift, the fuel pump nozzle lifts, and the counter stools, jukebox selector and shake spindles spin.
What does not move, and why: neon glow, cabling, the fuel hose and the payphone cord, steam and liquids are all static. Light, flexible lines and fluid each need a shader or a joint per element, and none of that is reachable with the single rigid node transform this library animates with. The neon frames are geometry with an emissive material and the pack embeds no lights of its own. There are no people and no vehicles anywhere in the scene: the pack ships no skinned meshes and no cars.
Every sign face, menu strip, vending front, pylon panel, vacancy board and room number plate is deliberately blank, so you can letter them for your own setting.
Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.
Points of interest
The counter
Twelve spinning stools along a six module counter run, with the pie case, cake stand, coffee urns, shake mixers and soda fountain head behind it. The pie case lid lifts and the till drawer opens.
Counter run with chrome edge (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)The short order line
Griddle under its extract hood and two fryers behind the counter. The fryer baskets lift; the hood, the heat lamp glow and anything cooking are static geometry.
Griddle with extract hood (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)Jukebox and booths
The jukebox selector spins in the curved end of the car. Six booth pairs run along the window bays, each table laid with a napkin dispenser and a condiment set.
Jukebox (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)Door, payphone and papers
The glazed door opens, and so do the payphone booth door and both newspaper box flaps. Every sign face, menu strip and vending front in this pack is deliberately blank for you to letter.
Payphone booth (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)The motel run
Nine rooms in two block widths under a continuous walkway canopy, with blank number plates beside each door. The room doors open; the blocks stay exteriors, so there are no interiors behind them.
Motel room block, two rooms (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)Office at the corner
The office front turns the L, with the reception desk and key rack inside and the blank vacancy board outside. Its door opens; the ice machine lid lifts and the vending flap swings.
Motel office front (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)The old pump island
A period fuel pump pair and a tyre stack at the western edge of the lot. The nozzle lifts off the pump; the hose is static, because a flexible line needs a joint per link.
Period fuel pump (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)Roadside signage
The pylon sign, the arrow frame and the rooftop pylon on the diner all carry blank panels. The neon frames are geometry with an emissive material: the pack embeds no lights and nothing glows on its own.

Models in this demo
Road module with centre line (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 5 m length of two lane blacktop, 6 m wide, with a broken centre line and both edge lines painted proud of the wearing course. Run the lengths end to end along the front of a lot to lay the highway a roadside stop faces.
Verge module (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 5 m by 6 m module of rough grass verge between the lot and the highway: a crowned turf slab with seven clumps of longer grass on it. Run it beside the road and lot modules so the ground is continuous across a whole roadside site.
Car park bay module (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 5 m by 6 m module of marked lot tarmac holding two parking bays: the wearing course with the painted bay lines and the head line standing proud of it, so a field of modules never flickers. Tile it edge to edge to lay a whole car park.
Wheel stop (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The precast stop at the head of a parking bay: a 1.7 m concrete block with a chamfered top and two pinned dowels standing proud of it. Set one per bay against the kerb.
Kerb module (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 2 m precast kerb for the edge of a lot: a 300 mm section with a chamfered top course and a painted coral nosing standing proud of the face. Run the sections end to end round a car park or along a walk.
Lot lamp post (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 6 m lot lamp: a concrete base, a tapered chrome column, a raked arm and a shallow enamel lantern with a warm lens. The lens is geometry with an emissive material; the pack embeds no lights, so a project adds its own.
Chequer floor module (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 2 m square of diner floor: a pale terrazzo slab with sixteen 500 mm squares, the dark ones laid proud of the slab so a field of modules never flickers. Tile it edge to edge under the shell modules to floor a whole diner car.
Diner car curved end (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The streamlined end of a diner car: a 3 m radius half round of seven fluted stainless chord panels on a black plinth, carrying the same chrome bands and turquoise stripe as the straight modules, with its own floor pan so the end bay is floored.
Diner car module, wide (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 4 m length of stainless diner car shell: a black plinth, vertical stainless flutes, a wide chrome band with a turquoise stripe over it, a second chrome band and a coral pinstripe under the roofline, identical on both faces so one module serves inside and out.
Diner car module, narrow (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 2 m length of stainless diner car shell: a black plinth, vertical stainless flutes, a wide chrome band with a turquoise stripe over it, a second chrome band and a coral pinstripe under the roofline, identical on both faces so one module serves inside and out.
Diner window bay (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The 2 m glazed bay of the diner car: a fluted stainless sill, chrome jambs and a transom bar, a pane 1.62 m tall and an enamel head with a coral pinstripe. Run it beside the shell modules to make the window wall a diner sits its booths against.
Diner glazed door (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The entrance module: chrome jambs and an enamel head over a single glazed leaf with a turquoise kick panel and a full height push bar. The leaf is a named node hung on its left stile and swings clear of the opening.

A 2 m length of diner roofline: an enamel fascia overhanging the shell on both faces with a wide chrome band, a coral pinstripe and a stainless capping. Sit it on any shell module at 3 m and run the lengths end to end round the building.
Rooftop sign pylon, blank (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The sign that stands on the diner roof: a dark kerb, two chrome legs, a turquoise cabinet with a blank lit face and a neon outline on both sides, a stainless capping and five lamp globes along the top. 3.3 m tall and completely wordless.
Diner wall panel (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
A 2 m interior partition for the kitchen end: an enamel panel 2.6 m tall with a coral dado line, a dark skirting and a chrome capping, all standing proud of the panel face. Run the panels together to divide a service area off the dining room.
Pass window with heat lamp (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The hatch between the kitchen and the counter: a stainless pass shelf 1.6 m wide with two jambs, an enamel head and a rail of three heat lamps with warm tubes over two waiting plates. The lamps are geometry only; the pack embeds no lights.
Menu board with blank strips (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
The board over the pass: a dark 1.8 m panel with chrome rails top and bottom and ten blank changeable strips in two columns, standing proud of the board. Nothing is lettered, so a project can put its own menu on the strips.
Coat hook run (Retro Diner and Roadside Motel)
