Walkable demo

Travelling Circus and Big Top

Walk a circus showground on a field: through the pay box and the gate, up a bunting-lined midway to a striped big top with its sidewall rolled up, past the trapeze, high wire and human cannon rigged out on the lot, round to the wagon line.

About

A travelling circus pitched on a field, laid out as the visitor walks it. From the spawn the queue lane runs past the pay box to the gate in the showground fence, under the entrance arch and up a midway lined with bunting, festoon runs, popcorn and candyfloss. The big top stands at the end of it: fourteen modular canvas bays closing a ring under the striped cone, a scalloped valance round the eaves, centre and quarter poles, guy lines and stakes pegged out on the grass.

Getting inside a tent when the walk cannot climb or duck. The demo walker moves at eye height and never leaves the ground, and a roofed interior is a dark box nobody ever sees. So the sidewall is rolled up on the show side: four canvas bays are left out of the ring either side of the doorway bay, the valance stays on all fourteen, and the ring is open to the lot. From the midway you look straight into the sawdust, the kerb, the tiered benches and the ringside boxes. The acts are set out twice over for the same reason: pedestals, tubs and a hoop stand dress the ring, while the trapeze rig, the tightrope and its net, the human cannon, the plate stand, the hoops, the unicycle, the juggling props and the clown car are rigged out on the open lot beside a second sawdust practice ring, where you can walk all the way round them.

Behind the tent is the back yard: living wagons in two liveries, a tractor unit, the empty cage wagon, the generator trailer and its cable drums, with the dressing mirror, the magician's cabinet, trunks, crates, hay bales and a rolled carpet stacked along the line. Flood lamps stand on the corners of the lot and fencing runs round the perimeter, with a gap on the east side for the lorries.

What moves. The ticket booth shutter, the showground gate, the wagon and cart doors, the magician's cabinet, the trunks and the crates all open and close. Wheels roll on the wagons, the tractor unit, the clown car and the unicycle. The trapeze bar swings, the human cannon and the flood lamps tilt, and the candyfloss drum, the plate stand, the hoop stand and the cable drums spin.

What does not move, and why. The canvas bays, the valance, the guy lines, the safety net, the high wire and the bunting and festoon runs are modelled stiff and stay stiff. Flexible material needs a joint per element, and a demo drives one rigid node transform per moving part, so a swagging rope or a billowing sheet is not something this rig can honestly do. There are no animals and no people anywhere in the pack: the cage wagon and the pedestals travel empty, and nothing here is skinned.

Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.

Points of interest

  • The pay box and the gate

    The queue lane runs past the pay box to the gate in the showground fence. The booth shutter opens and closes, and so does the gate. The poster boards are left blank for you to letter with your own show.

    Circus Ticket Booth (Travelling Circus and Big Top)
  • The midway

    Popcorn and candyfloss face each other across the walk up to the tent, with bunting and festoon runs strung either side. The carts roll and open, and the candyfloss drum spins.

    Popcorn Cart (Travelling Circus and Big Top)
  • Fourteen bays and a striped cone

    The big top is a modular kit: fourteen canvas bays close the ring under the cone, with a scalloped valance round the eaves and quarter poles inside. The sidewall is rolled up on the show side, so the ring is open to the lot.

    Big Top Striped Roof Cone (Travelling Circus and Big Top)
  • The ring

    Kerb segments ring the sawdust, the tiered benches bank up behind them and two ringside boxes face the open side. Pedestals, tubs and a hoop stand are set out for the act.

    Sawdust Ring Floor (Travelling Circus and Big Top)
  • Rigging out on the lot

    The aerial kit is pitched in the open beside the practice ring, where you can walk round it: the tightrope and its platforms stand over the safety net, with props and crates laid out on the sawdust.

    Tightrope and Platforms (Travelling Circus and Big Top)
  • The trapeze and the cannon

    The trapeze rig swings its bar and the human cannon tilts its barrel. Both sit out on the grass here rather than under the canvas, so you can see the mechanisms from the ground.

    Trapeze Rig (Travelling Circus and Big Top)
  • The back yard

    Living wagons in two liveries, a tractor unit, the empty cage wagon and the generator trailer stand along the back of the lot, with cable drums, trunks, crates and hay bales stacked behind the tent.

Common questions

How do I use Travelling Circus and Big Top with my AI development tools?
Press "Copy for AI agent" above and paste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or any other coding assistant. The prompt carries the direct CDN URL, the real-world size, the licence and the loading notes, so the assistant can fetch the scene and place it in your project without you writing the loader yourself. For a permanent connection, add the 3DAssets.dev MCP server to your tool with one command (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http 3dassets https://3dassets.dev/mcp) and the assistant can then search the whole catalogue, fetch files and read the usage snippets on its own.

MCP server setupGuide for AI agents

How do I get started?
Walk the scene here with the keys or touch to see how the pack fits together. To build it yourself, download the pack with the button, then copy the "Copy for AI agent" prompt: it links the layout JSON, which lists every placement with its position, rotation and CDN URL, so an assistant connected to the MCP server can rebuild the scene in your engine and change it to order.

MCP server setup

Which game engines and tools can I use Travelling Circus and Big Top with?
Anything that reads glTF, which today means all of the major ones: three.js and React Three Fiber on the web, Godot 4, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and the model-viewer web component. Every model in the scene is a self-contained binary glTF (.glb) with textures embedded, so each is one file to import and no plugin, converter or decoder to install first.
How do I import this scene into Unity, Godot, Unreal or Blender?
Unity: install the glTFast package (com.unity.cloud.gltfast) from the Package Manager, drop the .glb into Assets and drag the prefab in, or load it at runtime from the CDN URL. Godot 4: copy the file into the project folder and the editor imports it as a scene you can instantiate. Unreal Engine 5: File > Import with the built-in glTF importer, which converts the axes for you. Blender: File > Import > glTF 2.0. Units are metres with +Y up in the file, and every importer above handles the conversion to its own axes automatically.
Can I use Travelling Circus and Big Top in a commercial game, and do I need to credit anyone?
Yes to commercial use and no to credit. Every scene on 3DAssets.dev is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places it in the public domain: use it in a paid game, an app, a film or a client project, modify it, redistribute it, and put nothing in the credits. A link back is welcome but it is entirely your choice.

CC0 licence text

Can I load it from the CDN instead of downloading it?
Yes. The pack behind it has a permanent URL on cdn.3dassets.dev that is CORS-enabled and never changes content, so you can pass it straight to GLTFLoader, glTFast or model-viewer in production and cache it as hard as you like. Downloading is only needed for engines that import from disk.
Is the demo itself a file I can download?
No, and it does not need to be. A demo is a layout of the pack's published models composed in your browser from the CDN, so there is no extra file to fetch. Download the pack for the models, and take the layout JSON linked above for the placements: together they are the whole scene, and an AI agent can rebuild it from those two links.
Can I change the scene, or add gameplay to it?
Yes. The layout is plain data in metres, so move, add or remove placements freely in your own engine. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add: the demo shows what the pack looks like assembled, and your game decides how it plays.

Big Top Entrance Bay (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Big Top Entrance Bay (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

The same sidewall bay with a 2 m doorway cut through it under a rolled canvas head on two timber jambs, for the one bay of the ring the crowd walks in through. Ports and height are unchanged, so it drops into any position in the ring.

Big Top Scalloped Valance (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Big Top Scalloped Valance (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

A 4 m run of scalloped valance, five gold tongues under a red band with a white bob on each point. It hangs at the eave over a canvas bay, and fourteen runs skirt the whole tent.

@3dassets292 tris
Big Top Canvas Bay (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Big Top Canvas Bay (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

A 4 x 3.4 m red and white sidewall bay with a laced batten on each edge and timber hem and head rails. Fourteen of them close a 17.5 m ring, edge ports landing on the polygon's own vertices.

@3dassets168 tris
Big Top Striped Roof Cone (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Big Top Striped Roof Cone (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

The tent's roof: fourteen red and white gores rising 4.2 m to a gold crown ring, 18.6 m across the eaves so it oversails the sidewall. Set it on the wall head, over the centre pole; the gold crown ring caps the point where the fourteen gores meet.

@3dassets252 tris
Big Top Centre Pole (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Big Top Centre Pole (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

The 8.9 m king mast that carries the crown of the tent: a tapered timber pole on a steel spreader plate, two rigging rings and a gold ball with a pair of pennants over it. It stands in the middle of the ring.

@3dassets300 tris
Big Top King Pole (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Big Top King Pole (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

A 4.6 m quarter pole: a timber mast on a spreader plate with a cross head, a rigging ring for the roof lines and a gold cap. Four of them carry the cone between the centre pole and the sidewall, standing where the roof still has the height for them.

@3dassets180 tris
Tent Guy Line and Tensioner (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Tent Guy Line and Tensioner (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

A guy line as stiff geometry: one straight 4 m rope from the wall head down to a raked steel stake, with a two block timber tensioner on it. Static by design, because a rope that hangs and stretches is not reachable with a rigid node transform.

Tent Stake (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Tent Stake (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

@3dassets296 tris
Tall Circus Pedestal (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

Tall Circus Pedestal (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

The same pedestal at 1.1 m, the taller step of a pair. Left empty on purpose: this pack has no animals in it, and an empty pedestal is what stands in the ring between acts.

Tightrope and Platforms (Travelling Circus and Big Top)

A 8.4 m high wire between two 3.6 m platforms, each on four legs with a rung ladder, blue guard boards and a raking stay. The wire is stiff geometry and static, because a wire that dips under a walker is not one rigid body.
