Walkable demo

Town plaza crowd

Walk a 40 by 36 metre plaza filled with more than two hundred posed people: conversation groups, queues, workers, uniforms, a fantasy cast and spacesuits, with a scale reference row at the spawn.

About

A forty by thirty six metre paved plaza and its edges, laid with 347 placements of all 59 designs in the pack. Better than two hundred people are standing in it, and they are grouped the way people actually stand: conversation rings turned in on one another, a queue at the shop corner, families crossing on their own headings, children running, someone on a call, someone leaning at the edge, two dozen seated on benches.

Walk out of the spawn and the first thing in front of you is the reference display: the T pose and A pose figures on a dais, a mannequin turning on its turntable, a jointed wooden artist's figure and two mannequin busts on plinths, and a scale row of a child, an adult and the barbarian standing side by side. That answers the first question anyone asks of a figure set. One proportion table runs the whole pack: an adult is 1.75 m, the slighter adult 1.66 m, a child 1.16 m, an older figure 1.64 m and the barbarian 1.88 m, so any two figures here stand together correctly.

Past the display the plaza opens out. The south west corner is a works site with builders, a plank carry, mechanics crouched at wheel height, a courier and a medic kneeling to a casualty. The south east edge is trade: a shop worker at a stand, chefs, waiters with trays, a cleaner, a farmer and a small queue of customers. The north east holds a uniformed group, soldiers at ease, patrolling, kneeling and prone, with a police figure, firefighters and a medic standing apart from them. The north west is a different scene entirely, knights, an archer, a mage, a rogue, a barbarian and villagers at the same scale as the civilians. Along the north edge stand the spacesuits, the armoured troopers and the pilot.

Nobody here is rigged and nobody moves. Every person in this pack is static geometry in a baked pose, and that is a deliberate decision rather than a gap. The library pipeline carries rigid node transform clips and no skinning at all, so an organic figure cannot be animated here: hinging a shoulder and an elbow as separate rigid nodes tears the limb open at every joint and reads far worse than one clean, considered pose. What the pack gives instead is a pose that is correct from every angle, and enough of them to cover what a crowd does. The only things moving in this demo are inanimate: the shop mannequin turns on its turntable, the round display plinth turns, and the wooden artist's figure swings its limbs on real pin joints.

The four lowered poses are handled the way the pack asks. The sitting, sitting leaning back and older seated figures are shaped for a 0.40 m seat and ship without one, so every one of them here is on the pack's own plaza bench, which is built to that height. The kneeling and crouching poses, the medic, the soldier, the mechanic and the rogue, rest on the ground and need nothing under them. Shadow contact discs are dropped under a scattering of standing figures, which is what grounds a figure where a renderer casts no shadows.

The models are tiny, at most 1,665 triangles each, which is why a plaza can carry this many of them: 59 distinct models is the whole download, and everything above that is a clone. No figure resembles a real, identifiable person, and nothing carries a badge, crest, insignia, number, logo or any lettering. Every colourway is invented and no force, service, club, franchise or maker is referenced anywhere.

Every piece here is a published model from the pack, placed by hand. Walk with the keys or touch, and approach a piece to see it move if it has animation. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add.

Common questions

How do I use Town plaza crowd with my AI development tools?
Press "Copy for AI agent" above and paste the prompt into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or any other coding assistant. The prompt carries the direct CDN URL, the real-world size, the licence and the loading notes, so the assistant can fetch the scene and place it in your project without you writing the loader yourself. For a permanent connection, add the 3DAssets.dev MCP server to your tool with one command (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http 3dassets https://3dassets.dev/mcp) and the assistant can then search the whole catalogue, fetch files and read the usage snippets on its own.

How do I get started?
Walk the scene here with the keys or touch to see how the pack fits together. To build it yourself, download the pack with the button, then copy the "Copy for AI agent" prompt: it links the layout JSON, which lists every placement with its position, rotation and CDN URL, so an assistant connected to the MCP server can rebuild the scene in your engine and change it to order.

MCP server setup

Which game engines and tools can I use Town plaza crowd with?
Anything that reads glTF, which today means all of the major ones: three.js and React Three Fiber on the web, Godot 4, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Blender and the model-viewer web component. Every model in the scene is a self-contained binary glTF (.glb) with textures embedded, so each is one file to import and no plugin, converter or decoder to install first.
How do I import this scene into Unity, Godot, Unreal or Blender?
Unity: install the glTFast package (com.unity.cloud.gltfast) from the Package Manager, drop the .glb into Assets and drag the prefab in, or load it at runtime from the CDN URL. Godot 4: copy the file into the project folder and the editor imports it as a scene you can instantiate. Unreal Engine 5: File > Import with the built-in glTF importer, which converts the axes for you. Blender: File > Import > glTF 2.0. Units are metres with +Y up in the file, and every importer above handles the conversion to its own axes automatically.
Can I use Town plaza crowd in a commercial game, and do I need to credit anyone?
Yes to commercial use and no to credit. Every scene on 3DAssets.dev is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places it in the public domain: use it in a paid game, an app, a film or a client project, modify it, redistribute it, and put nothing in the credits. A link back is welcome but it is entirely your choice.

CC0 licence text

Can I load it from the CDN instead of downloading it?
Yes. The pack behind it has a permanent URL on cdn.3dassets.dev that is CORS-enabled and never changes content, so you can pass it straight to GLTFLoader, glTFast or model-viewer in production and cache it as hard as you like. Downloading is only needed for engines that import from disk.
Is the demo itself a file I can download?
No, and it does not need to be. A demo is a layout of the pack's published models composed in your browser from the CDN, so there is no extra file to fetch. Download the pack for the models, and take the layout JSON linked above for the placements: together they are the whole scene, and an AI agent can rebuild it from those two links.
Can I change the scene, or add gameplay to it?
Yes. The layout is plain data in metres, so move, add or remove placements freely in your own engine. Colliders, navigation and gameplay are yours to add: the demo shows what the pack looks like assembled, and your game decides how it plays.
