About
A 48 by 32 m station floor built from the pack's own 4 m slabs and shown as a cutaway: there is no roof over the halls and no wall across the front, so the reactor hall, the control room and the turbine hall are all looked straight down into and walked through. At the back left, half a containment shell in two sawn sections stands round the reactor cavity, with the vessel head and its thirty seven rod drives laid down beside it under a 12 m portal crane, the hook block on the floor below. Left front, the spent fuel pond: three bays of coping round the water with two storage racks standing in it, a refuelling machine straddling it on its portal legs, and the flask, a fuel assembly on its cradle and a stand of spare rod clusters on the floor around it. Across the middle, the health physics route into the control room: an airlock pair, the hand and foot monitor, PPE lockers, the decontamination shower, the sampling glovebox, the survey bench, waste drums and the stacker. Behind the blast door, the control room: the curved desk with its chairs, the mimic boards, dial banks, the rod position display, annunciator, instrument racks, the scram pedestal, the log desk and the telephone rack. Right, the turbine hall: casing, shaft line and generator in one line over the condenser, with the feed pumps, heat exchanger, steam drum, a five bay pipe gallery, the valve bank and a walkway with handrails. Right front, the electrical plant: the transformer, the standby diesel, bus duct and cable tray runs, and the battery room and switchgear in the one roofed annex.
