## About

## What is placed

A whole light station and the shore it stands on, laid from the pack’s six metre ground modules: cliff top grass under a cliff face at the back, a shingle beach, a rock shelf and tide pools running out to the point, and sea water planes with foam edges where the water meets the rock. The tower stands on the point: base plinth, five drum stages (plain, windowed and banded), gallery and railing, lantern room and dome with its vane.

Inland is the keeper’s garden inside a dry stone wall, with the cottage, an outbuilding, the coal bunker, the water butt and a washing line, and a working yard of oil and fuel stores, drum racks and handcarts beside it. The slipway runs off the shingle into the water with the boat trolley, lobster pots, nets, rope coils and tackle crates round its head. A jetty on piles reaches over the tide pools past the foghorn, with bollards, a life ring and a rowing boat moored off the end. Buoys, sea stacks and boulders sit offshore, wreck ribs lie half buried in the shingle, and cairns and warning signs mark the cliff path.

## The lens is at ground level on purpose

The lantern room, the gallery and the spiral stair sit at the top of a tall tower, and a demo walk has no vertical movement, so nobody would ever reach them. The pack answers that the way a real light station does during an overhaul: the optic is out of the lantern and standing in the yard on its overhaul cradle, with a spare stair segment beside it. It is the first thing on the walk from the spawn, and the drum spins as you come up to it. The tower keeps its job as the silhouette you navigate by.

## What moves

The lens drum spins on its cradle. The cottage door, the outbuilding door, the oil and fuel store door, the base plinth door and the garden gate all swing. The water butt lid lifts, the coal bunker lid lifts, the dome vent turns and the weathervane spins, and the handcart and boat trolley wheels roll. Clips play as you come within a few metres.

## What does not move, and why

The sea, the foam edges, the fishing nets, the rope coils, the flags on the mast and the flagpole and the washing on the line are all static. Flexible material and moving fluid need either a joint per element or a shader, and neither is reachable with the one rigid node transform per moving part that every model here uses. The foghorn is fixed: nothing on it is meant to move. There are no people and no animals, because the pack has no skinned meshes.

## About the station

It is an unnamed, invented light station. No real lighthouse, lighthouse authority, coastguard service, shipping line or lifeboat charity is named or depicted, the tower’s banding is invented rather than copied from any real light’s character, and every sign face, flag and buoy marking in the pack is deliberately blank.
