## What is placed

A whole ferry berth on 32 by 56 metres of quay. Behind you the marshalling lanes run in hatched chevrons under a lane gantry and traffic signals, with cars, a panel van and an articulated lorry queued at the check in booths, the weighbridge and the boarding barriers. On the west side the passenger terminal is built from facade bays, an entrance with sliding doors, a roof and a floor, and holds check in desks, seating banks, a cafe kiosk, ticket gates, a lift and stair core, toilets, luggage racks and trolleys. A covered walkway leads foot passengers out to the gangway tower. Ahead the quay coping runs to the water, with fender panels, bollards and mooring ropes, a fuel bunker point and lifebuoy posts, and mooring dolphins standing off in the harbour. The vehicle deck ramp climbs to the linkspan between its two hydraulic towers and down to the stern of the berthed ferry.

## What moves

The ferry's stern ramp opens and closes. The linkspan deck tilts to meet it. The check in barriers, the boarding ticket gates, the terminal entrance doors and the toilet door module all open and close, the sailings board tilts on its mount, and every vehicle rolls its wheels. All of it plays as you walk up to it.

## What does not move, and why

The ferry ships as a berthed stern section rather than a whole vessel: a complete hull will not fit inside the standard tier's triangle and file ceilings, so the pack models the half a berth actually shows. Water, mooring ropes, the hydraulic rams beyond the one driven node, the gangway bellows and the cables are static geometry, because none of them is reachable with the rigid node transforms this library uses. There are no passengers, crew or drivers: nothing here is skinned. Every livery and every name on a sign is invented, and no real ferry operator, shipping line or port authority is named.
