## About

## What is placed

A whole rented allotment site, hedged along one end and fenced along the other, with a padlocked gate. Four plots sit either side of a wood chip spine and a grass cross path: planted and empty raised beds, dug earth under cloches and bean wigwams, strawberry beds, tyre and sack planters, a rhubarb forcer, a netted brassica cage, a cold frame and an old bath used as a trough. Each plot has its own shelter, two timber sheds and two greenhouses, with water butts, a standpipe, a hose reel and watering cans around them. A compost corner runs a slatted bin, a plastic dalek and a leaf mould cage side by side. There is a beehive, a chicken coop, a bonfire ring, orchard trees along the hedge, and at the far end the communal stretch: noticeboard, honesty box stall, picnic table, deckchairs and the shared tool store.

## What moves

Both shed doors and the timber framed greenhouse door open and close. The slatted compost bin and the plastic dalek both lift their lids. The site gate swings on its padlocked post. The wheelbarrow's wheel rolls. Twelve of the models carry clips, and every one of them stands beside the path.

## What does not move, and why

The netting, the bean canes, the plants, the straw, the hose and the taps are static geometry: none of them is reachable with the rigid node transforms this library uses, and a fake version would cost a consumer more than it gives. There are no gardeners, because nothing here is skinned. And this is the allotment itself rather than a farm or a garden centre, both of which the catalogue already carries elsewhere.
