## About

A 33 by 16 metre exchange from 47 of the pack's 51 models, laid on the pack's own tiled floor bases inside three of its roofed building shells, under the hall preset with the lamps set just below the timber ceilings the shells carry.

You start in the glazed corridor along the south wall, facing a doorway through the operator partitions. Beyond it the switch hall runs 33 metres across: two back to back suites of selector racks and main distribution frames, broken by cross aisles onto each of the three rooms, with the floor trench covers and the supported overhead troughs following the same route and turning down the drop ladders at either end.

Straight ahead is the operator room, closed off by four glazed partitions and the equipment room door. Six manual switchboard bays with their end panels stand against the back wall under the call indicator and subscriber jack fields, headsets, twin cord pairs and a test handset still on the shelves, the chairs pushed back at angles, and the supervisor and directory desks either side with their telephones, call logs, slip trays and book racks. The cord rails, writing shelves, service telephone and bell box run down the side walls.

Off to the west is the power plant and battery room: twenty five cells in tiered rows, four charging cabinets with terminal strips on top, three ringing generators and five fuse distribution boards. To the east are the repair benches, five along the back wall with the resistance box, insulation meter, plug test block, splicing vise and stripped selector assemblies on them, a relay island behind, tool chests under component sorting drawers, and the spare handset cabinets down the wall.

Nothing moves. Every design in this pack is static by intent: the selectors, relays, keys, cords and doors are modelled as they were left, with no call routing, no simulation and no mechanism a rigid node transform could honestly carry. The decay is placed rather than animated, with fallen ceiling panels, mail sacks, chairs and loose paperwork scattered through the corridor, the hall and all three rooms.
