## About

Free 3D model of a prayer hall column with a moulded base and a stepped muqarnas capital, for a desert mosque or madrasa kit. Dimensions 0.63 by 2.26 by 0.66 m (X by Y by Z). Metre units, +Y up, +Z front, origin on the footprint at ground level. Freestanding column on its own plinth, origin on the centre of the base. Stands 2.20 m to the impost, which is the springing line every arch in this kit is struck from, so it closes the open end of a hypostyle row or carries a canopy on its own. Invented throughout: no real mosque, madrasa, city, institution or identifiable building is reproduced. Every pattern on it is an abstract geometric or interlace repeat, with no inscription, calligraphy or writing of any script, and there is no figurative depiction of a person or an animal anywhere in this pack. Desert palette: sandstone ashlar and darker stone, lime plaster, cobalt and turquoise glaze, cedar, split cane, brass, wrought iron, sand and courtyard green. Static geometry; no rig, animation, collision or navigation data.
