Free 3D model of a cedar minbar for a desert mosque: seven steps between pierced cheeks, an arched doorway at the foot and a seat under a muqarnas canopy, 3.5 m tall. Dimensions 1.31 by 3.54 by 2.83 m (X by Y by Z). Metre units, +Y up, +Z front, origin on the footprint at ground level. Furniture, origin on the centre of the footprint with the steps running up towards -Z. Stands beside a qibla wall section. Static: the minbar is joinery with no moving part, and the pack’s swinging nodes are the doors, the gate leaves, the screen leaves and the two lids. The lattice, the carved band and the canopy cells are geometric: there is no inscription anywhere on it. Invented throughout: no real mosque, madrasa, city, institution or identifiable building is reproduced. Every pattern on it is an abstract geometric or interlace repeat, with no inscription, calligraphy or writing of any script, and there is no figurative depiction of a person or an animal anywhere in this pack. Desert palette: sandstone ashlar and darker stone, lime plaster, cobalt and turquoise glaze, cedar, split cane, brass, wrought iron, sand and courtyard green.
